Product Overview

Curved tube pressure balanced expansion joint is a metal corrugated expansion joint that can simultaneously absorb axial displacement and lateral displacement, and withstand the internal pressure thrust of the pipeline. This product uses a combination of working bellows and balancing bellows to balance the pressure and thrust of the pipeline, thereby reducing or eliminating the impact of thrust on backend equipment, fixed supports, and factory structures. It is suitable for thermal displacement compensation applications with large diameters, high parameters, and complex pipeline layouts.

The product is mainly used in petrochemical, power, metallurgy, shipbuilding, nuclear power, HVAC and industrial pipeline systems, especially suitable for working conditions where pipeline layout space is limited, support bearing capacity is limited, and axial and lateral combined displacement needs to be absorbed simultaneously.

Structural Composition

1. * * Working corrugated pipe**
-Usually composed of one or two working corrugated pipes, used to absorb axial and lateral displacements generated by pipeline systems.
-Made of thin-walled stainless steel or nickel based alloy plates, it has good flexibility and fatigue resistance.

2. * * Balanced corrugated pipe**
-Arrange in conjunction with the working corrugated pipe to balance the thrust generated by the internal pressure of the pipeline.
-By reasonably matching the effective area, the internal pressure thrust can cancel each other out inside the structure, reducing the load on externally connected equipment.

3. * * Bend or tee**
-As an important structural component of the curved tube pressure balanced expansion joint, it is used to change the direction of the fluid and connect the working section and the balancing section.
-According to the pipeline layout, elbow or tee structures can be used to achieve spatial direction conversion.

4. * * Intermediate pipe/connecting pipe**
-Connect the cylinder section between the working corrugated pipe, balance corrugated pipe, and elbow or tee.
-Used to adjust product length, displacement absorption capacity, and overall structural stiffness.

5. * * Pull rod component**
-Including components such as pull rods, end plates, spherical washers, conical washers, etc.
-Used to transmit and balance pressure thrust, and to constrain and guide the deformation of corrugated pipes.
-Spherical and conical washers can adapt to certain angular deviations, ensuring even force distribution on the tension rod.

6. * * Head/End Plate**
-Used to seal the end and withstand internal pressure.
-Cooperate with flange or pipeline connection ends to ensure structural sealing and integrity.

7. * * Flange connection end**
-The two ends of the product are generally connected by flanges for easy connection and installation with on-site pipelines or equipment.
-The flange end bolt holes shall be configured according to the user's pipeline requirements or relevant standards.

Working Principle

The curved tube pressure balanced expansion joint absorbs axial and lateral displacement of the pipeline through the working bellows, while using the balanced bellows to compensate for the pressure thrust in the opposite direction. Due to the matching design of the effective areas of the working corrugated pipe and the balancing corrugated pipe, the thrust generated by the internal pressure of the pipeline can be balanced within the structure, so all pressure thrust will not be transmitted to the fixed supports or equipment in the system.

This product can absorb lateral and axial displacement in any plane, and is suitable for compensating composite displacement caused by thermal expansion and contraction, installation deviation, foundation settlement, and other reasons in pipeline systems.
